Social Media and Employees
by Accounts StudioOct 21, 2012
Social media is now a part of everyday marketing for a lot of small businesses, but many staff are also using them during work for private use.
Soon to be released research reveals that 67% of employees of businesses recently surveyed that had banned access to social media, were in fact still using it. The Study, in association with the Australian Human Resource Institute, found that nearly a third of the businesses surveyed did not have a social media policy.
In a recent case, Linfox sacked an employee over Facebook posts, but the employee was reinstated by Fairwork as Linfox did not have a social media policy in place.
