Restaurants On Top in Small Business
by Accounts StudioMar 30, 2011
The ANZ publishes a monthly survey which tracks the performance of small business in Australia. Results show that restaurants are amongst the best performing industry type while small businesses in regional areas are performing better than those in cities.
The April survey showed that Australian restaurant sales are growing by 9.2%, with clothing and fashion sales falling by 4.4% over the previous 12 months. These figures are backed up by the recent Bankwest report which shows a 27% increase in the number of people running their own accommodation and food business, and a decrease of 8.4% for those starting out in retail.
